Day One … the adventure begins

Our journey began this morning with a fairly relaxed start to the day. We had packed yesterday so today was just about getting up and doing any final things before waiting for our fabulous driver George to come and pick us up at 9.00 am (which is a very civilised time for an international flight!).

Being us … we were super organised so managed to squeeze in a 300 pc puzzle (which took us 22 mins) … all before George arrived.

Then off to the airport where the whole process was super easy. We even had time for an Adventure Lab at the airport and a virtual geocache before heading through security and immigration (again seamless). Which just left us waiting for our plane which thankfully arrived on time and departed on time.

A fairly smooth flight … just a little turbulent in the last half an hour and we arrived on time to a wet and humid Auckland. Again a smooth process through the airport, grabbed our car and headed off to our hotel for the night, then off to buy some groceries and some dinner before getting ourselves organised for the next two weeks of adventure.

To say that I’m excited is an understatement. So now we are settled in for the night all ready for tomorrow’s exploration!
